This week the base morns the death of one of it’s pilots. While on patrol, he and two of his squadron mates were jumped by a much larger force of hostile ships. He took a direct hit and was killed instantly. His ship was unrecoverable and the search for his remains was called off. Fortunately his comrades made it to safety without taking any damage.
