I don't normally say much. But today I thought I would.
You see today is a special day, not for me but for you all down
there on your
Wonderful beautiful planet.
A day were you try and remember the millions that have given their
lives to
keep you all free.
Sometimes they have and other time's they have not. But in trying
they have
given the greatest gift of themselves.
After all there is no greater gift to give then your life.
Each day I come to my office and sit down and work reading reports
of mass
killings, earthquakes, wars and other horrors and it pains me to
see this. You
have no idea how much it really hurts to see a beautiful planet
rip itself
apart because of silly stupid things.
Then I read about a whole city coming to a stop so that a family
of ducks may
cross a road and that makes me smile.
Then I read about a old man that fought in two great wars and how
he helps
others and feeds those that have less than he does. How each day
he goes
to a place were the names of his brothers and uncles are that were
killed in
both these horrible wars and he talks to them as if they were sitting
next
to him.
He is now over a 100 and blind but he helps people every day. More
than
likely he is in a lot of pain but he has never said anything about
it.
So the next time you think how bad things are think of the beauty
around
you. Think of the ducks, think of the old man that helps others
and what ever
the name you call today 11th of November don't forget those that
have died
for you.
Happy Armistice day
A strong aftershock Thursday shook a region of western Turkey that
is still
struggling to recover from a massive earthquake that killed thousands
this
summer. At least 91 people were injured Thursday, most after jumping
out of
buildings in panic.
The aftershock, with a magnitude of 5.7, struck the town of Adapazari
at
4:41 p.m. (1441 GMT). At least 83 people were injured in that town.
At least ten people were killed and many others left buried under
rubble
after a five-storey building collapsed in southern Italy.
The apartment block fell in on itself as more than 25 families slept
in the
early hours of Thursday morning.
Rescue workers and fire brigades have been digging with shovels
and bare
hands to find survivors.
Many of the seventy-one residents thought to be at home were trapped
under
the debris as neighbours from this working class suburb in Foggia
looked on
in disbelief.
Thank You
